Lunch and dinner are available at the Injune Hotel and the Injune Roadhouse, both a short stroll from the motel. Café on Second is also open for breakfast and lunch.
The Injune Bowls Club is just across the street, as is the swimming pool and tennis courts. The Bowls Club is open on Friday for Dinner & Saturday Pizza.
About the Town
Injune is part of The Maranoa Region and has a population of about 500 people. The main industries in the town are timber (cypress pine), beef production and mimage of Lake Nuga Nugga. More recently the extraction of coal bed methane gas which is piped all over Southern Queensland.
Injune has a magnificent tourist information centre, which is made from our local cypress pine. The building is a source of great pride to our local community. Injune is the closest town to Mt Moffatt National Park and is only an hour and a half from the famous Carnarvon National Park. Mt Moffatt is a “drive-around” park and requires a high clearance or four wheel drive vehicle.
Injune is also just down the road from the beautiful Lake Nuga Nuga 128 kilometres to the north. Lake Nuga Nuga has abundant bird life and makes a great day trip. Discover the natural beauty, and make Injune the base for your Carnarvon Gorge experience.
